The Buddhist Tv
The Buddhist is the first Buddhist television channel for Sri Lanka. The Buddhist channel studios are located at Sri Sambodhi Vihara (Temple) that is situated in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is available on the Sri Lankan Direct to Home satellite television service Dialog TV. The aim of the channel is to telecast valuable religious and cultural programming in the three main languages of Sri Lanka, English, Sinhala and Thamil. On 29 June 2007, the channel was officially launched by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva and head priest of the Asgiriya chapter in Sri Lanka.

The channel grew out of CCTV International, which was launched on 15 September 2000. Its Free-to-air satellite signal can be received by more than 85 million viewers, in over 100 countries and regions.It is also carried by Cable, DTH, IPTV, and Terrestrial TV platforms or systems in many nations. It caters to a global English-speaking audience, including overseas Chinese and English speakers in China.
Siyatha Tv
Siyatha TV is a private Sri Lankan analog television channel currently broadcasting in Colombo in the Sinhala language. It is owned by the Voice of Asia Network (Pvt) Ltd, which also runs radio channels named Siyatha FM, Real Radio and Vettri FM.

Early on July 30, 2010, 12 armed men attacked and firebombed the Sithaya TV and radio station, destroying much of the broadcasting equipment.The gunmen forced the staff to kneel at gunpoint, and injured two of them.

Derana Tv
Derana TV is a Sinhalese language free-to-air entertainment television channel broadcasting in Sri Lanka. Launched on 11 October 2005, it is one of the most popular free-to air networks in the country.[citation needed] Its main transmission tower is located in Colombo, and coverage is extended nationwide via substations in Nuwara Eliya, Deniyaya, Gammaduwa, Kandy, and Kalutara.

Sirasa TV is an analogue terrestrial television network in Sri Lanka. It is the sister channel of 'Channel 1 MTV' which was established in 1992. Sirasa TV was founded in 1998 to similar itself to their Radio network Sirasa FM. Sirasa TV is owned by the Sri Lankan business conglomerate The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd together with Gregson Holdings Ltd. Since then, another multi-national company - International Media Management - has also invested in MTV. It broadcasts its programs mainly in Sinhala.Fifteen masked gunmen stormed the studio and transmission complex, and destroyed the main control room of the group on 6 January 2009.Investigations revealed that a Claymore mine was used for the attack.Critics and observers linked the attack to the controversial reporting that was adopted in relation to the capture of Kilinochchi by Government Forces.Opposition political parties and associated media organizations accused the government of being responsible for the attackOn 22 March 2010, a group of protesters held a march at the head office of the MTV/Sirasa media network in central Colombo against American rap singer Akon's show, scheduled to be held in Colombo, which The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd played a main role organizing. Protesters stoned the building causing minor damage.Also the government banned Akon from coming to Sri Lanka by refusing to grant him a visa, stating that one of his music videos disrespects Buddhism by showing semi-naked women dancing over a statue of Lord Buddha and also highlighting his allegations of child abuse. Finally, the show was cancelled and the government was accused (By Sirasa) of being responsible for provoking the protests.
